Happy New Year

 

We can’t thank you enough for all the support you showed us these past years. Although I have neglected this blog, I decided that this year I want to focus more on the connection with not just our in-person customers but those we have also had the pleasure to create for online. I am pleased to announce that after many years, I did rejoin many social media sites during 2022. Moreover, we attended two craft fairs that were a huge success.

It’s hard to imagine how creating stained glass began as a personal journey to healing and now it has become a small business.  Moreover, Mr. Sawdust has joined the fun with his many wood creations. I know I would not be writing this post today without your help and endless support. May the upcoming year be filled with good deals, new creations, and connection.

Happy Chinese New Year

 

Year of the Ox

I have so many fond memories of celebrating Chinese New Year. It is by far my favorite holiday during the month of February!

 

I am sad that we will not be able to attend the festival in Washington Dc this year because of Covid. However, I wanted to decorate my home for the special occasion.

 

 

I made these pair of stained glass Ox suncatchers as a honor for this Chinese New year.They are both available for purchase on our Etsy Shop.

 

 

Oxen are honest and earnest. They are low key and never look for praise or to be the center of attention. This often hides their talent, but they’ll gain recognition through their hard work.

They believe that everyone should do what’s asked for them and stay within their boundaries. Though they are kind, it’s difficult for them to understand persuasion. Rarely losing their temper, they think logically and make great leaders.

 

This year we will celebrate at home with our favorite Asian takeout and our son will receive his “Red Envelope” at his college dorm mailbox. Do you celebrate Chinese New year? Please share a favorite recipe or memory.

New Years is Snow Much Fun.

 

Happy New Year!

It’s time to pop the champagne, put on our party hats (or pajama pants in my case), and celebrate all that we have accomplished in last year. Moreover, it is a great opportunity to start a fresh new year with creativity! 

 

We recently had some snow in our area and I had the inspiration to build a few snowmen. I had purchased these kits several years ago from Delphi Glass when they were on clearance.  

I wasn’t able to read the directions very well but it is really a beginner project that was very easy to put together.

 

 

I was beyond pleased with how they turned out and Mr. Sawdust (being the comedian of the family) thought I should make a “Grumpy Snowman” similar to his favorite Far Side Comic.

I do encourage everyone to try something new this year. After all, It’s a new year, friends! Another 364 days of exciting opportunities! I know the pandemic has many of us feeling stuck at times. But we have to stick together and put difference, old ways of thinking, in order to move forward.  This reminds me how each piece of glass must be soldered together to make a window. I reckon, being stuck together can be a beautiful thing.

 

Vesta M. Kelly says it best, “Snowflakes are one of nature's most fragile things, but just look what they can do when they stick together.”

With that being said it doesn’t matter is you are a happy or grumpy snowman but how we each connect with ourselves and others!
